Step 1: Select one or more rows and columns in active worksheet.

Step 2: Click on the Home tab > Click on the Insert drop down arrow. You will get different option now, you have to choose required option as per your need. You can also press right mouse button on selected rows or columns and choose “Insert…” option from the cascading menu.

Insert Cells: This option allows you to insert more than one cells in active worksheet.
Insert Sheet Rows: This option helps you to quickly insert one or more rows in active worksheet.

Insert Sheet Columns: If you want to insert one or more than one columns then you have to chose this option.
Insert Sheet: This option allows you to insert new worksheet in active workbook.

Note: All new rows are inserted at the top of selected rows while all new columns are inserted at the left side of selected column. If you insert one or more cells then rest of the cells are shifted in right, down or entire row/column.

Step 1: Select one or more rows and columns in active worksheet.

Step 2: Press Ctrl+ Shift+ + shortcut key. You can also Shift+F10 shortcut key to open the cascading menu and choose “Insert…” option.
