Hi, this is a simple and easy step by step tutorial to use your Android Phone as a Modem to run Internet on Your Computer by Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, USB cable (Tethering). Android Smartphone has a feature “Tethering” to share your Android device data connection with your PC or laptop. Android 2.3 and higher version of Android offers three ways to share Internet with mobile to PC or PC to Mobile by three ways 1. USB cable 2. Wi-Fi hotspot 3. Via Bluetooth.

How to use Android Phone as a Modem via USB cable:

Step 1. Connect your phone to Computer with the USB cable >>> Press on the “Home” button >>> then go to in your phone “Menu” >>> then go to “Settings” after that “Wireless & Networks section” and then  “Tethering & Portable Hotspot”.

Step 2. Check “USB Tethering” to start a USB data connection on your PC or Laptop >>> Your PC automatically install driver. If the driver didn’t install, then install driver >>> Uncheck the option of sever the connection.

Use Android Phone as a Modem via Bluetooth:

Step 1. Connect your phone to Computer with the USB cable >>> Press the “Home” button and then go to in phone “Menu” >>> then go to “Settings” after that “Wireless & Networks section” and then “Bluetooth”.

Step 2. Turn on “Bluetooth” after that Android phone takes a few minutes for visible to other Bluetooth Devices >>> Now click on the Start button on your computer, go to “Devices and Printers” and then “Add a Device” >>> Select your Android phone then click “Next” button and pair your phone.

Step 3. Go to the “Wireless & Networks” section option >>> now click on the “Tethering & Portable Hotspot” After that Check “Bluetooth Tethering” to share your phone’s Internet.

Use Android Phone as a Modem via Wi-Fi hotspot:

Step 1. Connect your phone to Computer with the USB cable >>> Press the “Home” button and then go to in phone “Menu” >>> then go to “Settings” after that “Wireless & Networks section” and then click on “Tethering & Portable Hotspot”.

Step 2. Now checks “Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot” >>> Then click on “Configure Wi-Fi Hotspot” >>> type your preferred SSID name, password and security mode on the configuration screen >>> Now click on “Save.”

Step 3. Click the “Network” option in the Windows Notification area >>> Now select the SSID name and you choose your phone >>> then click on the “Connect” and enter your password to connect with your phone’s data plan.
