Micromax Canvas Gold comes with a 16 megapixel camera, 5 megapixel secondary cameras and runs an Octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz. This is MediaTek MT6592T processor chipset. Canvas Gold A300 comes with 2 GB RAM, 32 GB phone internal memory and full HD 5-inch and 2350 mAh Battery.
Micromax A300 is great phone and must be root Micromax Canvas Gold because root allows for you to use a maximum of your phone without any restrictions. After root you will install custom apps, custom Rom and custom setting in your phone. But before root you must read Root Advantage and Disadvantage by this post. Then after follow these steps to root your phone.
Preparation of root Micromax Canvas Gold:
1. Take a backup of your phone Click here.
2. Your phone battery should charge 80% minimum.
3. Read all steps then do it careful.
4. Make sure proper power backup of your PC.

Easy step to root Micromax A300 Canvas Gold and install CWM recovery
Step 1: Install drivers in your PC and Enable USB Debugging on your Phone. Go to Settings >>> Developer options >>> USB debugging check it ( If your phone have Android 4.2 or upper version then see how to enable Developer options here is guide of this Click here). After then switch off your phone.
Step 2: Download SuperSU file and copy in your phone memory card. Now Download CWM recovery and scatter file of your phone and extract these file in a folder where you want. Extract and open the SP Tool. Sptool.exe Run as Administrator.
Step 3: You will see an SP tool window, now click on the scatter-Loading option in the SP tool. Then you will get the new tab of SP Tool which you ask the location of the scatter file on your PC. Now select the “Android_scatter_emmc.txt” file. See in this image.
Step 4: Now connect your switch off phone with PC via USB cable (Make sure your phone is switched off).
Step 5: SP Tool detect your phone and process will start. If Sptool is not recognize/detect your phone then install vcom driver read this post it will help you click here (Driver already in phone flash drive if you don’t have these drivers then install it)
Step 6: Now start installing recovery in your phone by flashing.
Note: Don’t interrupt this process as it can potentially brick your device. Make sure no power interruption takes place.
Step 7: After the process complete, a green ring will appear.

Step 9: Do not start your phone. Press and hold vol. up & down + power button then select “recovery mode” (If your touch not work then use volume up and down key for menu up and down and Power button as a enter button)
Step 10. Click on install button/ choose install and select SuperSU.zip file from your save location on your SD card and install this file. Now reboot your phone.

Really need help, i gifted my gf canvas gold A300.As soon as the warranty got over , she wanted me to root it n upgrade to lollipop.
i went thru the above tutorial and some other in skyneel.com and tried , but in between it showed “All files in Rom folder doesnt exist” and thn my mobile doesnt switch on.
Help me plzzz.

Sir sp tool doesn't detect the phone. Tried every way of installing driver but nothing works. Using win 8.1. The yellow mark still comes. When I press dwnld it's not search my pH.

I got message Downloading recovery failed, and some log file came.

thanks for ur response, but installing SU that way throws an error, "no SU binary installed, and SU cant install it." Also root checker app says that the phone is not rooted.
At the 10th step my phone says "Error mounting SD card". What should i do know?

Lastlysir can yiu suggest some must have root apps for this phone . It contains a lot of bloatware which runs in background always . Although phone has 2 gbof ram out which only 1 gb free even after reset

The scatter file you used was mt6592 but gold has mt6692t chipset. Also have you really tested it?? On what android version?

Followed all the steps, now it says "PMT changed for the ROM, it must be downloaded".
Never mind, I knew the problem was with the scatter file. I made a new scatter file from MTK tools and using that, flashed the recovery. Thanks for the recovery.img

I am novice and wanted to let you know that I have rooted the phone using KingRoot which I felt was easy to use. My Friend Akash Bajaj suggested it.
Now trying to create partition preferably (SWAP partition) as you know A300 comes with 32GB RAM and it shows (total) Phone Internal storage of 1.48GB (I have 286MB available) and Phone storage (built in Memory) of 25.39GB (I have 23.84GB available) but I keep facing the error of low memory.
I need help in creating the SWAP partition. I tried using the free version of RAMEXPANDER and ROM Toolkit Pro. I also tried MemoryInfo-Swap but now of them work.
Can someone guide me please, without the memory issue fix this phone is junk but I am sure if one has expanded the memory it will be one of the best phone in market.
