Google’s new version Android 3.0 launched recently which is name Honeycomb. It has many new features which will excite users and developers. Here features of Android will be explained in this article.
New User Features
The new version of Android called Honeycomb 3.0 is specially optimized for large screen devices like tablets. It launched a very new virtual and true “holographic” UI design. In this version user will find content-focused interaction.
System Bar, for global status and notifications
Honeycomb 3.0 come up with quicker access for notifications, system status and system bar has soft navigation buttons. All these are available at the bottom of the screen. There is a key touch point in system bar for users which has new lights out mode. This light out mode can be dimmed for full screen visibility for videos.
Action Bar, for application control
Android 3.0 improved Action Bar while user use any application it is shown at the top of the screen. In Action Bar content, theme and other properties are managed by application itself. In Action bar user will find a new option touch point which is specially made for action items and an overflow dropdown menu.
Customizable Home Screen
Android 3.0 offers five customizable Home screen which allows users to instant access of the system. In each screen there is a large grid which maintains spatial arrangements. This new version allow users to select and manipulate Home screen widgets, shortcuts and wallpapers using a dedicated visual layout mode. When user adjust the layout of shortcuts and widgets visual cues and drop shadows enhance the visible quality. With each home screen user will get familiar launcher which will help in accessing of installed applications.

Recent Apps, for easy visual multitasking
Multitasking is a very important feature for Android and in this new version it has same value. When user will try to handle various tasks at the same time, Recent Apps list which is in system bar will help users. Through this user will easily jump one to another application without navigating each app.
Redesigned keyboard
Google redesigned keyboard so that typing text became more fast and accurate on larger screen size. Google reshaped keys and repositioned them which improved targeting. New keys also added like Tab key which enable text input better and more efficient. Through touch hold keys user can access special characters of menu.
Improved text selection copy and paste
In this version new UI allows users quickly select a word by press hold and after that user can adjust the area of selection too as needed. From action bar user can selection an action like copy, paste, share etc.

Camera and Gallery
In Honeycomb 3.0 camera app also redesigned which enable user to be benefited of a larger screen. Through this improved camera app user can easily and quickly access the exposure, focus, flash, zooming, front camera etc. It has built in support for time lapse video sharing which gives users new experience of clicking photos.
