Micromax Canvas Juice A177 Powered by 1.2 GHz MTK 6572 Dual Core. It has MediaTek MT6572 chipset with Mali 400 GPU. And this smartphone comes with 1GB RAM With 4GB Internal Storage and user can be expanded up to 32GB. This is nice phone with good hardware configuration and Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Preparations of Root:

1. Take a backup of your phone Click here.
2. Your phone battery should charge 80% minimum.

Follow these Steps to Root Micromax A177:

Step 1: Download Framaroot app, click here

Step 2: Copy Framaroot app in your phone internal storage or external SD card.

Step 3: Go to setting >>> tap on security >>> tick on the unknown sources box (After install un-tick this option doesn’t forget it).

Step 5: After completion, you will get two option first one “Done” and second one “Open” . Now tap on the open and run Framaroot App and Now Select “Install Super Su”.

Step 6: After then you will see one of these options “Boromir or Gandalf or Aragorn” and tap on it. Now reboot your Mobile and Enjoy rooted phone. That’s all

    1. U need pc for lollipop,dosent require pc for kitakat. Download Philz recovery for xpress.img use so flash tools and flash it in PC

Helllo sir,,,i have a problem in my smartphone,,,there are so many unwanted app installed by itself…i uninstalled it so many times…but when i restart or swith on my mobile…the unwanted apps install again itself,,,what i do,,,the apps like gaana,ladoo,omni swipe,easy touch and many more,,,i am facing so much problem while using my mobile….plzzz help….

    2. Download and open ES file explorer and enable root explorer from menu. Go to /system/app folder and delete your desired app. It will be deleted permanently

    2. Hi friend, make sure your charger (data cable) is plugged-in properly. If it still shows charging icon then move that cable and insert it firmly. Otherwise restart your PC/lappy whatever you’re using and reboot your phone if needed. Keep it in a stationary mode (still places, motionless – don’t disturb while transferring a datum) The true prob is – the cable, if it is bit loose then you may find these probs, however we’re using only cable without installing driver (Micromax phone) CDs. So it’s obvious.

    I rooted my micromax a177 using the guide u had given. everything went on well and suddenly one day all apps disappeared including googple play store and the keyboard on my phone. now the second partition done on my SD card is not recognised, error msg on Link2SD is second partition is not mountable. am not able to install Super Su or any of the applications, the error msg i get is “No more space” even though there is memory space left to install apps. Pls note that i am not able to install any of the apps.

    Pls suggest the solution

      1. rest your phone.
      2. Uninstall some app then format your SD card by PC and insert again.
      3. install Stock Rom

  14. for those who don't find supersu after reboot…
    just install it manually … I have done it with my A177 & used superuser 2.46 … I downloaded the superuser apk from moddedapk site. after installing it run the app. I am not responsible if u do something else & blame me if your device gets softbricked….

    The message was shown with a success…
    I rebooted my device but yet it was not rooted…
    I verified by root checker…
    Superuser was not installed…
    Android 4.2.2
    Kernel version: 3.4.5

  19. Dude I had a problem with my canvas juice the stock ROM I downloaded if forZA1005C_060A_V_8_0_3

    WHERE AS my phone build no is different therefor whenever I try to install custom recovery or stock ROM that is for the above no mentioned my phone become dead and I had changed motherboard due to this 2 time ZA1005C_060B_V_8_0_0 

    I backed up second phone and fount difference in size of the recovery abd boot .img files

  20. I installed framaroot app and rooted my phone. later when I restarted it, there was no SuperSU app.. To check whether my phone is rooted or not, I installed Root Checker App from Play Store but it said "sorry your device does not have proper root access"

Hi abhishek… i have rooted my micromax A177 phone as described by you.. i went perfectly well and enjoyed changing fonts etc… but yesterday when i tried to change a different font using ifont app, my phone failed to restart… it stops at canvas logo only and failed to boot… plz help me to restore my phone to factory settings using stock rom in a step by step fashion.. you explain in a nice way… i have downloaded stock rom for a177(418 mb) and didnot know what to do… plz help me…plz..

    I have one other problem, I have done USB debugging to install apps on my sd card , but thae apps are still installing on internal memory and their is no option to move the apps to sd card in app info.
    So plz can you help me with this ??
