Hi, This is a latest new update of Micromax A116 Canvas HD Stock Rom V5. It is Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean Stock V5  Rom. Micromax A116 a most popular phone in the Canvas series, and this phone has maximum updates. Now this time Micromax relase 5th update of this phone Stock Rom V5. Micromax will release KitKat update of this phone soon.

Preparation of flash or update:

1. Take a backup of your phone Click here.
2. Take a backup of your IMEI no. by mobile uncle tool Click here.
3. Your phone battery should charge 80% minimum.
4. Read all steps then do it careful.5. Make sure proper power backup of your PC.

How to install new update of Micromax A116 Canvas HD Stock Rom V5:

Step 1: Install drivers in your PC  and Enable USB Debugging on your Phone. Go to Settings >>> Developer options >>> USB debugging check it ( If your phone have Android 4.2 or upper version then see how to enable Developer options here is guide of this Click here). After then switch off your phone.

step 2:  Extract the Stock ROM folder where you want

Step 3: Extract and open the SP Tool. Sptool.exe Run as Administrator

Step 4: Click on Scatter-Loading option.

Step 5: SpTool ask you the location of the scatter file in your PC. You will find it in the extracted Stock ROM folder. Now go to the Rom folder and select the file “Android_scatter_emmc.txt” which is our scatter file.

Step 6: Now click on Download.

Step 7: Connect your switch off phone with PC via USB cable  (Make sure your phone is switched off).

Step 8: SP Tool detect your phone and process will start. If Sptool is not recognize/detect your phone then install vcom driver read this post it will help you click here  (Driver already in phone flash drive if you don’t have these drivers then install it)

Step 9: Now start downloading Stock Rom in your phone by flashing

Note: Don’t interrupt this process as it can potentially brick your device. Make sure no power interruption takes place.

Step 10:  After the process complete, a green ring will appear.

Step 11: Disconnect your phone. Now your phone is updated.

Note: After Flashing or updating from 4.1.1 to 4.2.1 you will get a TP UPDATE popup which will update your phone TP automatically. So, don’t touch your phone touch panel while the TP is being updated, otherwise your phone may be some TP problem.

After install new update of Micromax A116 Canvas HD Stock Rom V5, you can to root Canvas HD because root allows for you to use a maximum of your phone without any restrictions.After root you will install custom apps, custom Rom and custom setting in your  phone.       Install vcom driver on your PC then flash Stock Rom. Use window 7 for flashing Rom.

  13. First of all, thank u very much for this V5 rom.
    Sir, by installing this Stock V5 rom, i am happy to say the screen flickering has been reduced in my MMX A116.
    But, when i install custom rom (Color OS, Samsung, Xperia) on this stock V5 rom as a base, the screen flickering continues. please provide a solution for this.

      This ROM officially STOCK ROM fro Micromax for canvas hd (A116), so no warranty issue. It is working fine on Canvas HD and i don't thing that Micromax release kitkat via OTA. If Micromax release kitkat, you will find here with update guide, so stay with us.

      Micromax did not release kitkat update for A116 canvas hd till now. I don't know, how can you update your Canvas HD with KitKat. But you can install V5 any time to back on original Rom.

    1. Micromax did not release kitkat update for canvas HD. I don't suggest you to install any custom Rom on your Mobile because, custom Rom means beginning lot's of problem with your phone.

      1. Version of V5 ROm S9201_4.2_MP_F3F8_B1_IN_MMX_14. This is first approved Rom of A116i and V5 update of Canvas HD.

      2. This is 4.2 Android Jelly Bean and Micromax does not release any update of 4.3 or 4.4.

      3. I think OTA app does not work properly.

    Please supplu your tool version, GUI screen shot, and tool logs when you encounter trouble with the latest tool.
    How to obtain the tool logs?
    1. Run the tool:
    2. Press Ctrl + Alt + t( Tool title hint : Run time trace Mode )
    3. [Menu] help – [SubMenu] open log folder

      2. Which do you want to install Rom in your Phone
      3 did you install driver in your PC
      4 can you try this process in 32 bit OS
